Pork belly in the air fryer is a great way to use this cut of meat. Glazed with sticky hoisin sauce and simply served with a bowl of rice - it's delicious. This really is a meal the whole family will love. If you don’t have an air fryer then don’t panic you can do this in your oven. It just might take a little longer to cook through.

Ingredients
pork belly 800 g (sliced)
Chinese 5 spice 1 tsp
soy sauce 3 tbsp
cornflour 2 tbsp
hoisin sauce 2 tbsp
sweet chilli sauce 2 tbsp
ginger & garlic paste 2 tsp
basmati microwave rice 500 g
mixed chillies 1 (sliced)
sesame seeds 1 tsp
Method
Marinate the pork belly
Cut the pork belly into bite size pieces.
In a large bowl combine the pork belly, Chinese 5 spice and ⅓ of the soy sauce (you’ll need the rest for step 5). Leave to marinate for 20 minutes.
Cook the pork belly
Toss the pork belly pieces in the cornflour.
Place the pork belly on top of the crisp plate in the air fryer. Cook for 16 minutes at 180°C, shaking halfway through.
Make the hoisin glaze
While the pork belly is cooking, make the hoisin glaze. Combine the hoisin sauce, the remaining soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce and the ginger and garlic paste.
Finish the dish
When the pork belly is nearly ready, cook the rice according to the packet instructions.
Deseed and slice the chilli.
Pour the hoisin glaze over the pork belly and stir to cover.
Plate Up
Serve the pork belly over the rice, sprinkle with the fresh chilli and sesame seeds. Tuck in and enjoy!
