This time we’re topping the tomato base with mozzarella, mortadella (Italian pork sausage), sweet sundried tomatoes and fragrant fresh basil. It delivers a rich and savoury Italian-style pizza with a gentle sweetness from the mortadella.

Ingredients

sundried tomatoes 50 g (chopped)
Crosta Mollica tomato pizza base 1
mozzarella cheese ball 80 g (torn)
mortadella 40 g (torn)
fresh basil 1 handful (leaves picked)

Method

Add the toppings

Preheat the oven to 190C fan.
Tear or chop any of the larger sundried tomatoes if needed.
Top the Crosta Mollica tomato pizza base with the mozzarella and sundried tomatoes.

Bake the pizza & Plate Up

Place your pizza directly in the middle shelf of the oven for 8–9 mins. Bake until golden and bubbling.
Finish the cooked pizza by scattering over strips of mortadella with the fresh basil leaves, a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of cracked black pepper. Slice it up and enjoy!
