Ingredients
garlic cloves 4 (crushed)
mixed chillies 1 (sliced)
spinach 1 handful (chopped)
gnocchi 500 g
pork sausages 400 g (crumbled)
tomato purée 2 tbsp
double cream 250 ml
Method
Prep the ingredients
Peel and crush the garlic. Slice the chillies, deseed the chillies if you prefer less heat. Roughly chop the spinach.
Cook the dish
Cook the gnocchi in a pan of boiling salted water for 2 - 3 minutes, until they rise to the top. Drain, reserving some of the cooking water for step 5.
Heat a dash of oil in a large frying pan on a medium-high heat. Remove the skin from the sausages and crumble the sausage meat into the pan. Cook for a few minutes until the sausage meat starts to crisp up.
Add the garlic, chilli and tomato puree and fry for 2 minutes, coating the sausage meat.
Add the gnocchi and a dash of the reserved cooking water to the pan with the sausage meat.
Stir in the double cream, bring to a simmer and add the chopped spinach, stir until it wilts. Season to taste.
